Through my spiritual growth I have come across another gem. An associate pastor of my church gave us a way to look at what is driving our desires (lust of the eye, lust of the flesh and the pride of life). Check to make sure ALL of your desires are not motivated by these pleasures. I have one or few that may be driven by one or two of these but that is why I am still on this journey. We are all called to be spiritual ambassadors, representing “the kingdom” and even though we do not always represent properly, there is grace and mercy. Think of the ambassadors that you see today and how they are only ever really held accountable by their respective countries, in my case it would be “the kingdom”.

Grace => getting what we do not deserve
Mercy => not getting what we deserve.
